How Did Tallman Orchard Ladder Start?

Tallman Orchard Ladders began when Bob Tallman, Sr. decided he needed a lightweight, sturdy tripod ladder to assist with tending to his orchards. While tripod-style ladders had been available for years, they were quite heavy and had a tendency to leave splinters in the hands of users. They also had a tendency to swell in rainstorms and to become loose when dried out, resulting in a nearly constant need to make repairs.

To address these concerns, it was decided to construct a Tallman tripod ladder with aluminum. With its first production run occurring in March of 1954, the company remains a small, family-owned business that has enjoyed moderate growth through the years. As exporting sales have grown over time, the company now has sales reaching many countries throughout the world. Tallman still operates his business to this day, with his ladders gaining a reputation for being the best quality and longest lasting orchard ladders in the market.
